BC Hydro Term 4: Beyond Routine DevOps

DevOps Term 4 Reflection

๐Ÿ—“ Term 4: May 1 โ€“ Aug 30, 2026

The last four months went well past routine DevOps work. I built a Kubernetes/Rancher reporting service in Node.js and TypeScript, with automated cluster-health reporting, token expiry monitoring, and extensive unit testing. I also containerized an internal web application and deployed it onto Kubernetes end to end, helped explore a platform migration using Power Platform and Dataverse, and spent more time troubleshooting production issues across applications, access, authentication, and infrastructure. The through-line was less any single project and more the habit of taking something from problem, to investigation, to rollout, to actually confirming it was fixed.

A small personal note: starting this week, I'm moving from part-time to full-time. Glad to be staying with the team, and still figuring out where I want all of this to point next.
